We all at one point in time have heard or read about the Holy Spirit. In this post, we will discuss the significance of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is called our helper in The Holy Bible and in itself is the 3rd person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit does not have any name as the Father and the Son. Jesus explains to us the importance of the Holy Spirit by saying that no man can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again by the spirit. He even tells us that we will become sons of God. But have you ever wondered how is all this possible?
The answer to this lies in understanding the Holy Spirit. All the Major religions in the world claim that we can live for eternity by following certain ways or rituals and finally passing judgment. For example, Hinduism claims that the aim of Human life is to attain salvation and be one with the eternal god through works(karma) or faith(dharma). Islam claims that people will be judged according to their works and there is no replacement for salvation through works and believing in one God, both have to be fulfilled simultaneously. Basically, almost all major religions believe that salvation is achieved through works.
Seems like magic doesn’t it? That all religions endorse good works, and seem to agree that there is eternity but don’t explain how we live there and what we do there.
The first question which would come to mind would be how do we live for eternity? This question is answered through the triune nature of the god of the Bible. By definition, only God, his word, and spirit are eternal and self-existent. So, to live for eternity, we need to inherit these attributes. But how do we inherit these attributes after all we can’t become gods.
This is solved through the Holy Spirit. Once we inherit the holy spirit, we inherit the eternity attribute of God. So even if the created world, which is composed of matter, space, and time is destroyed we will survive because we have inherited the Holy Spirit which in turn offers us one of the attributes of God.
And this could be one of the reasons Jesus says no one can see the kingdom of GOD unless he/she is born again of the Holy Spirit, also this is what I think Jesus meant when he said we will be sons of God.
I would be more than happy to hear your thoughts on this. You can comment your thoughts in the comment section. See you all in the next post, till then keep reading.
